Why Bulgaria

A European operating base with a changing strategic profile.

For international companies and entrepreneurs, Bulgaria combines EU membership, euro-area integration and access to the Schengen area with a strategic position in South-Eastern Europe.

What changed

The euro is now part of Bulgaria’s business environment.

Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026, becoming the 21st member of the euro area. For cross-border businesses, this strengthens monetary integration with a large part of the European market and removes the former lev/euro currency boundary from day-to-day euro transactions.

Operational perspective

The opportunity is not simply to register a company, but to build a real, manageable operating presence.

ME&P perspective

Bulgaria is not a product. It is an operating environment.

Our role is to help clients understand what their specific activity requires in practice — and to coordinate the administrative, technical and territorial conditions needed to operate.
